A Registered Associative Clinical Social Worker, Marco Lopez, is a graduate from Loma Linda University with a Master of Arts in Social Work. He chose this career as a mental health therapist due to having the passion as well as empathy for using his life experience to help children, teenagers, and adults navigate their healing journeys.
Marco has worked in substance use treatment centers, wraparound services for at risk youth, full-service partnership (FSPs) providing personalized support for individuals facing serious behavioral health challenges, and Department of Behavioral Health CalWORKs providing treatment for mental health services, domestic violence and substance abuse. He has over 17 years of mental health and substance use experience.
Marco provides support for complex issues such as addiction, anxiety, depression, PTSD, anger management, grief and loss, and family /relationship conflicts. Marco’s approach is deeply rooted in empathy, compassion, and his personal lived experiences, ensuring each client receives care tailored to their unique needs and strengths.
Marco’s areas of specialization include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which helps modify thinking patterns to relieve symptoms by fostering awareness of thoughts, feelings, and emotions, Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a counseling style that helps people explore their feelings and find their own motivation to change.
